ソウル・ギターとヴォーカルが醸し出す極上の‘80sグルーヴ。このアルバムで最もスポットを当てられているのはジョニー・ハーツマン、ユージン・ブラックネル直系といわれるホームズのギター・プレイ。冒頭から2曲、そのソウルフルな妙技がたっぷり味わえるインストが続きます。この辺りはコーネル・デュプリー/スタッフを思わせるスムーズさ。ラブ・ソング「The Art Of Loving You」とブギー・ファンク「Can I Get Nasty」ではレディ・ビアンカとのデュエットでヴォーカルも聴かせます。いちばんの聴きどころはジャズ・ヴォーカリスト、ジェイミー・デイヴィスをフィーチャーしたメロウ・フローター「You Girl」でしょうか。メロウなギターとシックな歌声が夜の港町に溶けるよう。70年代の若さと熱気が、落ち着いた都会のグルーヴに姿を変えてこの作品に結実したようです。
